Pelosi Making it Hard for Dems to be Loved

1. In interviews over the weekend,

Dame Pelosi dismissed the Republicans from the legislative process.

They’ve had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning. “Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint.” [The Hill]

When asked by  ABC’s  Elizabeth Vargas if she thought she had the votes to pass health care,Pelosi demonstrated that she is both adept at avoiding answers and at implementing a step-by-step approach:

“First we zero in on what the policy will be. And that is what we’ll be doing — following the president’s summit yesterday.”Secondly, we’ll see what the Senate can do. What is the substance? And what is the Senate prepared to do? And then we’ll go to the third step as to what my — my members will vote for.

2. Pelosi has now charged that the Republican Party has Hijacked the Conservative Tea Party Movement!

SHE needs them in November. First she again mowed them down to size by calling them an an “astroturf” movement. Then, in a surprise move, she crossed the  barricades to hug Tea Partiers and remind them that they shared much in common with the Democratic Party. [AP]

Let the Games Begin!  The battle for independents by any name has begun.

3. And speaking of November 2010, ask Michele Bachman how well Nancy Pelosi multitasks:

You know, right now Nancy Pelosi has made me her number-one target to get rid of in the United States Congress,” she said. “She is raising money against me at a lightning clip. Every day the media hate machine is on my case daily in Minnesota in my state. She has recruited her candidate. This is extremely nasty and these people play for keeps. [Minnesota Independent]

Watch it Michele. Nancy Pelosi runs an ass-to-turf-movement.  Any day now you can expect to find yourself on the ground looking up at her.  You are just part of her overall election strategy. As she herself put it in an interview last December:

I actually take some level of pride in the opponents I have gathered, Pelosi tells Clift. “It helps with my fundraising. [The Swamp]
