Can there still be a write-in campaign for President? We live in a talentless political landscape coping with 40% loss of income for middle-class America, terrorism and Lindsay Lohan. Neither education nor therapy seems to work here anymore.
Our politicians only make the news when they make a mistake; our Hollywood stars are expected to have bikini bodies and nothing more, and a college education costs what a house costs.
We are all so tired from running in place we could not possibly organize a demonstration never mind a revolution to change things. We are so polarized that we can’t have an old fashioned discussion over the back yard fence.
We’d pray to the gods for intervention but even those lines of communication are being tapped. Self talk is risky. The gods might do something but from what I’ve heard, they think intervention is not cost-effective. They watch ALL the TV financial shows on both sides of the spectrum and are as undecided as we are. The only certainty: the stock market goes up and down.
Is it too late for a write-in candidate backed by independents ? In some states, yes. My colleague, Arlene Army, has pointed out that a write in candidate is not allowed in Oklahoma. Several other states have that same policy: Alabama, Louisana and Mississippi. A list of states and their rules for write-in candidates may be found here.

Oklahoma does not even allow us to do “write-in”. I thought they did, until I was informed last week.

We need someone with a proven track record on fiscal policy, a commitment to a sound energy policy, a proven understanding of monetary policy including the consequences of quatatative easing, an understanding that America should not be benign to it’s enemies and dangerous to it’s allies, and have a proven track record of opposing crony capitalism rather than embracing it.
Given these qualifications, there is only one choice for a write in candidate.
MILF 2012!
Possesing outstanding attributes and a well rounded personality shouldn’t disqualify someone from being President.

So, James, you want Milton Friedman for President in 2012?

Friedman would be great on economic and fiscal policy, but I haven’t a clue about his views on energy policy which is just as important if not more so. Also, it is my understanding that Friedman has no actual experience in politics, government or being the CEO of a large organization. These are critical skills that should not be learned on the job as POTUS. Even if Obama’s policy positions not been antithetical to mine, I still would have considerred his years spent as a “community organizer” (aka “poverty pimp”) in Chicago, then voting “present” on so many votes in the Illinoise legislature then not even being able to claim that he was “present” in the US Senate because he spent most of his time running for POTUS as proof that he was eminently unqualified to be President.

Just a link to an article giving a speech at a conference for Conservative bloggers.
As you can see, it would be far more enjoyable for us men to watch a State of the Union Address being delivered by a President Palin then a President Friedman.
I am told that Margaret Thatcher was also a looker in her younger years and that her credentials to be PM were questioned as a result. A political cartoon of the era that shows a dapper English gentlemen who is tied to a stake and being threatened by a dragon yelling “Maggie” to summon a sword wielding Thatcher would be very appropriate for today. Cameran can’t even be trusted to not abandon in his children at the local pub.

Milton Friedman died in 2006.
It is quite customary for people to rise up out of their graves every four years to vote Democrat, especially in Chicago, but a dead man is just as Constitutionally unqualified to be President as a Kenyan.
BTW, there is evidence being revealed that suggests that Obama is Constitutionally qualified to be President because his real father is Frank Marshall Davis, an avowed Communist, published pornography, purveyor of pornographic photography, and infamous pedophile with an affinity for teenaged boys. It seems that Obama’s mother, Stanley Dunham, modeled for Frank Marshal Davis. An upcoming book will include photographs of her to prove it. Needless to say, I am eager to see nude photographs of the President’s mother, purely for prurient interests of course.

Not wishing to slight Mrs T nor disappoint James, but I’m not sure that the halcyon days of which he speaks were ever enjoyed by the Iron Lady. He makes a fair point about Pres palin though.
SamHenry do you ever get tired of us blokes sinking to this level?

Actually, I got curious and Googled photos of Lady Thatcher. Most are from her days as PM or in Parliment, but I found a few from her younger years. She was no Miss Alaska runner up, but she was definitely an attractive woman.
Golda Meir is another example. IMHO, shared by Generals in the IDF, is that PM Meir screwed up big time by not calling up the reserves and launching a preemptive strike as Israel did in 1967. However; the political benefits in global relations might have out weighed the military considerations.

I never tire of you blokes at any level or I wouldn’t be here.
