I want to share an article with you that started me thinking. Mexican drug cartels have moved into small towns in the south and southwest. In these sleepy little towns, they even blatantly growing Marijuana.
We have a border that is uncomfortably open to provide cheap labor in the fields at harvest time, gardeners and etc. In the countries where we have troops, this would not be tolerated. But here, corporate farming America rules. Small farms don’t need this kind of mass labor pool and they treat land and animals better.

You make an excellent point about corporate farms benefitting from lax border security. The megafarms of today that depend on illegal aliens from Mexico enjoy the same, competitive advantage over small farmes that the plantations of the old South who benefitted from involuntary immigrants from Africa.

It’s a growing problem. Where I live we’ve already had a couple of signature beheadings by these cartels yet the news attempts to spin it. We have a major problem on the border and these cartels are a threat to our national security. A real threat.
