Politics is a dirty business and it just got dirtier today when Politico ran with the headline – Bombshell: Cain accused of inappropriate behavior by female employees. So the next thing we know, the man himself is being questioned on the matter and he and his press rep both deny the allegations albeit Cain in a way that was somewhat unorthodox. He queried the reporter asking him about it “have you ever been accused of sexual harassment”?
True or false the question is not solely are the allegations true. The charges at the time of the incidents and now even today seem to stem from anonymous sources and innuendo. Did representatives from the two women alleged to have been harassed approach Politico or had Politico launched its own investigation?
As important as the truth behind these allegations will be, the answer to this question “who brought this information to the forefront and why” will be of equal weight. No matter the answer, one thing is certain. This entire scenario is of benefit to the Democrats. They want Romney to be their opposition and that is that.

Or RINO Perry. He would benefit from a Cain collapse.
At the same time, it reeks of Obama’s dirty bag of tricks that he’s always used on opponents.
Perhaps we could ask Justice Thomas if he has any ideas?
Bookworm had a really interesting post about how these charges stem from the lawsuit happy days of the early 90s, when this kind of thing was common. Companies would rather pay out than go through a trial that was a guaranteed loss, because NO ONE could win against a sexual harassment suit.
Heck, even I got accused of it once by a little girl – I say little but she was like 17 or 18 – she came to work one day crying and I – mid 30s me – gave her a hug and told her if she needed to talk, I would be more than happy to listen. About a month later, my manager called me into the office to let me know I’d been accused. To say I was speechless would be an understatement.
Anyway, Book’s post is here:

I am certain that there is more to this than meets the eye. I think that it is ridiculous after Clinton to waste any amount of time on this. Were he a true perp, he would have been known as such far longer and world wide.

Clinton was a true pervert. His sexual escapades included numerous consensual encounters as well as the alleged rape of Juanita Broderick. No one in the Democrat Party seemed to care. Of course the Republican Party blundered by attempting to impeach Clnton over his perjury in a sexual harassment suit brought by Paula Jones. A far better tactic would have been to simply focus public attention on rather than politely conceal the Paula Jones affidavit concerning the distinguishing characteristics as well as the comments made by Jennifer Flowers in her interview with pictorial published in “Penthouse” magazine on his inauguration day. Her comment that he used his talented tongue to compensate for his pathetic endowment was an appropriate metaphor for his entire political career.

Thank you for waiting almost a week to hear from me. It has been a busy time in this household. I agree that the Republicans made a mistake and one of many they do when they think that making a point means standing up and trying to legislate morality in an immoral world. Example is more powerful – how they and their leaders lead their lives.
Clinton is the kind of person that eventually hangs himself.
