He may be a legal citizen of the US but he is also one crazy dude sitting in the White House. He plays games and we now all know it. Legally he has been the only one who could have come up with this birth certificate – the “original.” But he didn’t do it. He waited until he felt that the “birthers” and others had put themselves out on a limb before he released it.
But why else would he do this late in the “game”? Could it be, oh no, he didn’t have a hard time getting it forged did he? Now he is hoping this will be the next level of hell on which the “birthers” will land. He is ready with comebacks for this argument.
But there is no comeback for why didn’t he just end this like a grown man much earlier. Oh, of course, it was lost in the Archives.
Sorry Barack but this has blown up in your face. Your smug remarks on television today about Trump are so typical of you when faced with an opponent you cannot control. Trump got you to do this. Face it. Long-term, Trump will win this round because he stated what he truly believed to be the truth. And you, knowing the truth, allowed him to sink into the mud over it.
Barack, go to your room without supper tonight and don’t come out until you can play President like an honest man and not a snarky little boy. Oh, and no Air Force one for a week.

My whole issue is with credibility. You claim to be the most transparent administration in history, yet you can’t produce a simple document for nearly 3 years. Practice what you preach. It’s too little, too late. If he just wants to be coy and play games with the American public, he needs to get out of the WH and find a new line of work.

Now let’s see who paid for his college tuition & for his trip to Pakistan in the ’80s.

The Saudi Royal Family paid for his college tuition. That’s how this “D” student got into Harvard.

It’s an odd one this. The whole fuss looked bizarre from a European perspective.
Interesting that those who have doubted him now either continue to do so on other grounds (never satisfied) or like yourself, condemn him for not doing this sooner. So he can’t win – could never win – as far as some people are concerned.
However, to be fair to you SH, you’ve never been a knee jerk naysayer. And it’s a fair question to ask why didn’t he do this sooner and get it all out of the way.
I don’t know.
But I wonder whether dignity – personal and of the office of president – comes into it. Having released his short form birth cert, why should Obama crawl to those who find him objectionable on grounds of colour, party or politics – people whose objections are built on political opportunism or prejudice?
Why should he pander to absurdists? Why accord them credibility?
And yet… In this era of transparency and freedom of information – and his talk of a fresh new approach – couldn’t he have, without prejudice, swallowed his valid qualms and just released the damn birth cert.
It wouldn’t have put the matter to rest, nor silenced the doubters – enough of them will cry forgery, conspiracy or something else – but it might have reassured people like you who feel somehow let down.
Perhaps despite your opposition to Obama, you still credited him with some of that “above the fray” statesmanship. Turns out he’s human. (And American.)
But I’m not sure if this outcome means Trump and the birthers and the Republicans and the Tea Partiers “win”. They came across as deluded oddballs, demagogues, opportunists and cynics (from this perspective) beforehand. Now they’ve been proven wrong according to their own lights – will they do the decent, dignified thing and admit they were wrong? Will they heck.
Next thing they’ll be claiming O’Bama isn’t really Irish either. http://wp.me/pDjed-Ra

I think the “birthers” are more or less on the fringe but I think Trump is too savvy to be duped. He is a showman to be sure but look at his history and there really isn’t anything a bit dark in it. He is very open about having overcharged Gadaffi LOL.
Yanks take off after each other. That’s just how it is. That is why there is so much bullying in schools. Goes back to the wild west. However, I am from the east, and Anglo-American and so my views are somewhat in the middle of the Atlantic. You are republican anyway so if you lived here we would disagree politically. I am pretty much an independent. I think Obama kicked dignity of his office under the table during the Gates affair when he stepped up to the plate to go above the courts to declare his friend the professor right and the Cambridge police wrong – talk about offending Irishmen. He didn’t know what he had done. Irish police and fire in Boston and environs is sacred.
Yes he’s a bit of a neophyte but hey, we all overturned centuries of social standards and voted for him. GIVE US some credit. He will have to take his lumps with the rest of us. Life hasn’t been swell for the Bush family – any first family. The poor royals are now targets of much more hate. I say lets all be a bit more honest and cut the crap. Now that’s the “bottom line” from SH as it were. Time to put the dog out to lay a little pipe as we say. Rain and tornadoes tonight. I hope Imp isn’t blown away. You got my Irish up, Roo.

True, the Gates affair wasn’t his finest hour.
And true, he has to take his lumps like everyone else – but some of the blows say so much more about those landing them than the intended target.
But don’t mention rain and tornadoes – I’m extra sensitive about the weather this week.

We package tornadoes for shipments overseas.
I agree with what you have just said. Wasn’t there a play: “How he lied to his Mother” or something like that? Well, I’m writing a play about a man who changed the way Americans thought about race and presidents and then turned around and reminded us of all the white crooked presidents of the past. Get my drift, pardner?

Don’t know that play.
Looking forward to reading yours though.

So, he let a man rot in prison for 6mos because he didn’t want to show his b/c, and he pulls it out now when Lakin is about to be released? Not to mention other military personnel who have been discharged merely for asking for confirmation that the person who is their Commander in Chief, does in fact have the proof of his claim? What kind of game is he playing? Sounds like a sick, twisted person to me.
Over $2M spent hiding it, and then he throws it out there like dirty laundry. Something still smells funny to me. Things that make you go, “Hmmm.”

Barack is a sick, twisted person but when we go to suggest it, we are called racist. Blacks are never sic or twisted.

He’s hoping that the public focus will be on the BC so we won’t look at his wrecked presidency and notice how far he’s taken down our Republic already. It’s the old TRICK….watch my right hand and ignor my left. I think his real father was Houdini.

I think this is probably the best explanation of the timing from Roblorinov. Maybe he’s been waiting till times get sufficiently tough for him to produce this back up card from up his sleeve.

You are right. I used to think that Barack dressed like an undertaker but in reality he is a magician without cape and top hat.
