Could it simply be that it’s their time? That many were acquired around the same time, so many are dying at roughly the same times as well? When did Free Willy come out? Hasn’t it been about 25 years?
Just wondering out loud.

Probably not because they lived about 10 years less than their wild cousins. It was also noted that they were stressed.
