Remember the days of Randy Andy and that “B” film star, Koo Stark? Then the Royals saw Sarah Ferguson as the salvation of the house of Windor from the likes of Koo. But wait. It’s 2010 and it looks from here as if Ms. Stark has bested both Andy and Fergie.
Koo Stark and Prince Andrew in younger, happier times.
A collection of portraits, providing a dramatic insight into what inspires and intrigues photographer Koo Stark, will be exhibited at Ventnor Winter Gardens from Sunday 12th September.
The images include portraits of an eclectic range of cultural icons, including the Dalai Lama, Shirley Bassey, Oliver Reed, John Hurt and Graham Greene.
The exhibition organised by the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust has been loaned to Ventnor Winter Gardens by Dimbola Lodge, the photographic museum based at the home of Victorian photographic pioneer Julia Margaret Cameron.
Background on Koo
Koo Stark is an American living in London, a photographer, writer and actress. She is a long-term supporter of the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust on which she serves as a patron.
Koo has worked as a professional photographer since 1983. Her teacher and mentor was Norman Parkinson.
Her work has appeared in leading magazines and galleries, including the Saatchi Gallery, the Royal Festival Hall and the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery and the V&A. She has also taken front-of-house shots for many West End productions and curated an
exhibition of photographs by Richard Gere. [ventnorblog]
Contrast this with the recent headlines for Sarah Ferguson who was the victim of a sting perpetrated by News of the World in which she attempted to sell access to Prince Andrew.
Contrast this also with the recent hookup of Prince Andrew with a young wanderer among the wealthy on their yachts that has produced the headline:
Andy spends evening with his ‘yachty totty’
Prince Andrew and Alexandra. Attractive of Andy, eh?
Seven weeks after meeting on a yacht in Sardinia, when she was photographed rubbing suntan lotion into his shoulders, Prince Andrew clearly remains beguiled by shapely model Alexandra Escat.
The other night, Alexandra — who at 25 is half the Duke of York’s age — was, I can reveal, a guest of Andrew’s at an intimate dinner for two at Buckingham Palace.

Well, Sarah may have been an improvement over Koo (who names their child “Koo”?) but I think all it really proves is that Andrew could have used better taste in women.
And he’s as pale as I am! He needs to get out more! Sheesh. Nobody wants to see that Andrew, put a shirt on.

All Brits are pasty white. It rains there all the time. On all other matters, agreed. Meeting adjourned.
