This week the discussion about the viability of a Mosque near ground zero on 9/11 morphed from a regional issue to a national forum led by the President and finally into a three-ring circus as Nancy Pelosi became self-appointed ringmaster cracking her whip and demanding an investigation of the mosque’s backers as well as opponents.
Today, a representative for the group building the mosque cum cultural center took the net away from his high-flying enterprise.
ABC NewsBy RUSSELL GOLDMANAug. 18, 2010The developers behind the Islamic center planned for a site near Ground Zero won’t rule out accepting financing from the Mideast — including from Saudi Arabia and Iran — as they begin searching for $100 million needed to build the project.
The religious organization and the development company behind the center declined to say how much of the $100 million needed to build the facility has already been raised.
“We are in the planning stages,” said Oz Sultan, spokesman for the center now called Park51. “We have just started the process of fundraising planning.”
Sultan said it would take three to six months to establish a plan on how to raise the needed capital. He said any fundraising campaign would begin domestically, but he would not comment on whether it would extend overseas or to foreign governments.
The Saudis, home to the 9/11 terrorists, have funded many mosques in this country; the US government has declared Iran a sponsor of terrorism. [ABC News.go.com]
The group sponsoring the Mosque has declined an invitation by Governor Patterson to meet with him to engage in a dialogue about alternative locations. Oh, and in the midst of all of this breaking news, the President was heard to say that he did not regret his comments on the center. [blogs.ajc.com] Hey, it’s summer. I’m wondering why it’s not a crime to accept financing from sponsors and supporters of terror groups? I thought aiding and abeting the enemy is … well … unacceptable?

Thank ye. I’m trying to keep all the parts in their place but my fall knocked my leg out of alignment or something! Working on it. Supposed to be losing weight. My idea of that is eat 1/3 of the peach triffle and throw the rest away. That’s a diet.

As to the topic, Pelosi is so far GONE I’m beginning to wonder if she was fed lead as a child? Or maybe too much Floride in her drinking water? Or perhaps she is just Commie to the bone marrow? Whatever the case may be, she needs to learn to READ and DEFEND what the Constitution says, not the “Communist Party Agenda of Marx and Lenin”!

As I see it, they are all puppets to the “Powers that Be’ and do what they say to do. Controlling healthcare is what dictatorships do according to history.
I think that anyone that is not for the communist party takeover are transparently deemed a terrorist. We have heard US Patriots called this from this same admin and congress and guess what? Good points all, Lisa. I may be a candidate for hip replacement. Am doing some physical therapy then evaluation. I was in the midst of being trained for my work from home job when this happened (after 2 falls). I had to drop out. I think I will be able to apply to another program in the company. We’ll see. Meanwhile, can’t stand long or sit long so brief posts and visits to pals on the net of which you will always be one. Laters.
