The United Nations has been silent as Hamas digs up Christian graves, throwing the remains on a bonfire convinced they are ridding the land of contamination:
Every three minutes a Christian is being tortured in the Muslim world, and in 2009 more than 165,000 Christians will have been killed because of their faith, most of them in Muslim countries, according to a human rights organization that is visiting Israel starting Sunday.
“Hamas digs up the bodies of Christians from Christian burial sites in the Gaza Strip claiming that they pollute the earth,” said Reverend Majed El Shafie, President of One Free World International (OFWI), who will head a delegation of human rights activists, members of parliament from Canada and religious personalities.
During their visit to Israel the delegation will hold a conference on human rights and persecuted minorities at the Van Leer Institute in Jerusalem. The conference will provide new statistics on the persecution of minorities in Muslim countries.
El Shafie said that between 200-300 million Christians are being persecuted in the world, 80 percent of whom lived in Muslim countries and the rest in communist and other countries.
Members of the delegation will meet with Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon and Mayor of Jerusalem. [Jersulam Post via sodahead.com]
JERUSALEM, Israel - The tiny Palestinian Christian community in the Gaza Strip remains under intense persecution, according to a Canadian human rights group.
There are some 3,500 Christians in Gaza among the 1.4 million Muslims.
Majed El Shafie, president of One Free World International, says some Christians are forced to cooperate with the terrorist group Hamas that rules Gaza in order to protect their families.
“The Christians in the Palestinian Authority areas [are] facing persecutions. Their homes, their churches they get attacked almost every day,” El Shafie explained.
He added that after the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip two years ago, Hamas dug up Christian graves and burned the bodies because they felt the remains defiled the land.
In Egypt, anti-Christian activity has reached new heights. January 6, Christains (called Coptics) were mowed down by gunfire as they left mass:
About 9 percent of Egyptians are Coptic, according to the Central Intelligence Agency World Fact Book. Ninety percent of Egyptians are Muslim. [CNN.com]
Clearly, Muslims do not see any difference between Jews and Christians; between Israel and Washington. If the Arabian Peninsula falls, then Israel will be completely surrounded by Muslim theocracies. The al Qaeda momentum may suffer temporarily but then they are reborn and up to the task of tearing down the West. They may succeed – it may take a century but they are patient. They’ve waited over 500 years for this moment.
