It’s official. President Obama will not be standing in line to buy Sarah Palin’s book. What a Democratic party poop! “When asked if he would read her book, President Obama said he ‘probably won’t.’” [The Examiner]. At the very least most people of intelligence like to “know thine enemy.” But the point here is – he COULD learn something. Being close-minded is a waste of a good mind.
But if the President waxed a bit casual in the assessment of his future reading list, his Organizing For America reps were hitting the warpath today:
Washington (CNN) – The Democratic Party’s fundraising off of Sarah Palin’s “dangerous” book tour.
“Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn,” wrote Organizing for America director Mitch Stewart in a message sent to supporters Friday.
“It’s dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term ‘Death Panels’ – and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists. Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.
The group, the president’s political arm at the Democratic National Committee, set a goal of raising $500,000 over the next week “to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies.” OFA said the contributions will be used to respond to those attacks via ads, events, and phone banking congressional offices. Wow! This is huge! One lone woman and her followers are “dangerous” and must be “pushed back.” Never has a President had a ready-made organization at the ready able to spring into action nation-wide at a moment’s notice to handle such heavy opposition.
The Democrats have not learned the lesson of the push back against FOX News. All it does is make life interesting for all of us and garner support for whoever is on the receiving end of OFA’s efforts.
The only “dangerous” thing about Sarah Palin is that her tour is forcing otherwise sane people all over the nation to sit up all night in sleeping bags in front of book stores to be first in line at her book signings. Not just hundreds of people show up; thousands come.
Is Sarah pleased about all of this? “You betcha,” wink, wink.

OK. Thanks for the correction. I liked your piece on India. I have studied the arts of that country. My cousin is retired as the Director of the Freer and Sackler Galleries at the Smithsonian. His area of expertise is Mughal paintings of Northern India. I studied the arts of Buddhist Asia. If you take one concept like Buddhism and trace it through different cultures it is wonderful how this process throws the innate vision into relief of a piece of art that bears the imprint of the culture in which it was created. I am sure you know this. Well, it’s late and I am old. The two don’t mix. See you soon. I like and encourage all views here. Thanks for bringing yours. I’m not Pollyanna. I just think it’s nuts to speak only with others with your same views if you want to grow.

Folks on the left are clearly afraid or jealous of Palin. Ive never seen such rabid reaction towards other potential candidates.
If I was in the left’s camp, I would treat Palin the same as the left treat Huckabee or Romney. The more they bash her, the more visibility she has.
Can you imagine the amount of folks she will pull in if she goes on campaign trail at the rallies in 2010.

One thing I think we can all agree on…
Sarah Palin is much a polarizing Political Figure as is Barack Obama.
Barack is looking bad… he is trapped in the White House and his policies are failing… he has enemies now on the Far Left taking shots at him for not being Marxist enough. And shots from the middle and right for being a Marxist.
He has been caught fabricating lies about creating jobs as an effort to hide the fact that his 787 billion dollar ‘Stimulus’ is a massive flop as evidenced by increasing unemployment.
And why is it increasing? Because nothing was designed into the disbursement of the ‘Stimulus’ money to grease the rails of businesses becoming more prosperous. Why? Because the DEM party is anti-prosperity.
Yet without businesses increasing their prosperity, they are unable to grow and create more jobs.
That is the trap of the MARXIST Ideology and why Socialism and Communism has never worked… not ever. It collapsed the Soviet Union and forced Communist China to drop their anti-capitalist thinking and embrace capitalism.
It is a foregone conclusion that the DEM/SOCIALIST/MARXIST party will fail as it is now doing…

Found it interesting to see a rocket powered hound dog on this site. My coonhound doesn’t need a rocket, she’s too fast already! It’s great to see the normally quiet and invisible public get riled up over Sarah Palin. Back to the 60′s spirit with “power to the people”! When she came to visit Green Bay campaigning 2008 she had over 15,000 people. President Obama had organizers bring outsiders by bus to have 5,000 people packed like sardines for television packaging.

The Basset is to protect a friend of mine and her kids while her husband is in Afghanistan. I have a labrador retriever who will not retrieve or go in the water and a Jack Russell Terrier who will not only do all of that but who taught the retriever to jump 6 feet into the air!

Our son will be back from Baghdad in January! My wife does dog rescues with her facebook clan, and this coonhound just showed up last year! I had to keep her, with some regret? Our Keeshond is not sure about the coonhound, and our rescue dog is a mutt that our youngest son wanted to adopt.
Will come back to visit! Am learning how to get around this digital world a little better.
