In July we celebrate the birth of our nation; in September, we are forced to face that date that forever transformed it -9/11. Four hijacked aircraft commandeered by a few men on each have eroded our international standing and power and our self confidence as a nation sate. Our reaction to 9/11 was predictable – we stormed off into the area of the world where regional conflict is a way of life and fantasized short term success with long term implications. But the islamists have been waiting patiently for a time to meet the Crusaders again on their home soil. They openly taunted us in Iraq and have artfully have us in Afghanistan. These wars abroad have expended our precious human resources; corruption in government and finance have expended our solvency and security at home. We are in debt to China; China is undoubtedly doing what none dare say – “managing” us. We have lost our moral compass and are left with misdirected anger and resolve.
While we are debating health care, finance and other major reforms, mass Islamic immigration into Europe and America is bringing the real change. Our entire way of life – our laws, our government, and our sacred freedoms are under siege. Websites and books are beginning to tackle this head on. One notable tome, Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam and the West. By Christopher Caldwell. Doubleday; 422 pages; $30. Allen Lane; £14.99. Buy from Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, has been reviewed in the August 27th issue of the ECONOMIST. The reviewer brought out 4 of Caldwell’s points:
1) Western Europe became a multi-ethnic society in a fit of absence of mind.” European policymakers imported people to fill short-term job shortages. But immigrants continued to multiply even as the jobs disappeared: the number of foreign residents in Germany increased from 3m in 1971 to 7.5m in 2000 though the number of foreigners in the workforce did not budge. Today immigrants account for about 10% of the population of most west European countries, and up to 30% in some of Europe’s great cities.
2) Policymakers were even more mistaken about culture than they were about numbers. They assumed that immigrants would quickly adopt the mores of their host societies. But a surprising number of immigrants have proved “unmeltable”.
3) Europe’s indigenous population is ageing fast, with a quarter of it over 60. Immigrants have large families.
4) Europe is no match for Islamic self-confidence: “When an insecure, malleable, relativistic culture meets a culture that is anchored, confident and strengthened by common doctrines, it is generally the former that changes to suit the latter.”
Mass immigration has been the Achilles heel of a democratic state. Vincente Fox, Mexico’s past President, was heard to say that his country could take back the south west US without firing a single shot – but by simply sending people there to live. He was correct. But we share cultural traditions with Central and South America that stem from European sources.
In the case of Islam, we do not. And so the question becomes one of if the current low fertility rate in the West continues and the high immigration ( and fertility) rate of the Islamic peoples continues – will it mean the death of our culture? As the Taliban destroyed remnants of “foreign” culture in Afghanistan, will the dominant Islamic culture when it anchors itself in the West do the same in London, Paris, New York – in all the major capitals where Western culture is enshrined? And whither our legal system? Already Mullahs in the UK have predicted Sharia law will be the law of the land there within 10 years.
We have a great deal to weigh and discuss and we need to begin to do it. We need to move beyond political correctness. We need to be informed about what is really going on and where it MIGHT take us. Open discussion and strategic planning may go along way to ensure that our heritage may be preserved; our languages remembered. Most of us joy in the differences among us. Islam allows for no differences, only conformity.
The aforementioned are ominous indicators of things to come – a one way direction for the future. But a cautionary tale about the future: the amazing thing about it is that we don’t have all the necessary information about it to be able to credibly predict it. That is true for Islam as well as for the West. No matter the present circumstance, the future is there for everyone equally and may be remade in an image different from that imagined by either side of an issue.

of course you are right, the non-native populations taking over some of Europes countries…France comes to mind. And then you have Lefties in the UK government (and now ares) who advocate “losing 30m brits” (how? I don’t know),… maybe do mass sterilization like Holdren our science “czar” advocates…
it always seems too easy to understand. And yet we let the lefties tell us the exact opposite of what IS rational. You come here, you obey our law. You become an American.
We don’t CHANGE our primary language or our laws (to support Sharia) law to suit you.
That is what the left-leaning governments in Europe HAVE done.
PC is the achilles heel of rational citizens.
Leftist in power us PC against their constituents in order to manipulate MORE power for them. Like bringing in MORE people = greater votes for bigger government (lefties)… but they are false. They pretend they are fighting for this ‘good notion’ and that the citizens should too… which is what happened in GB. As and example, look at Gordon Brown. He used the leftist PC guilt trip to release a radical extremist who killed hundreds of people by guilting the people into “his sick, old” condition. But now reality has surfaced. It was a deal for Oil.
So even in Leftist governments who use the shell of environment to further their power, they secretly have to get Oil anyway… to keep the economy moving.
Ridiculous.
My dad said we went to Vietnam over rubber.
And that was a Democrat president who got us there too.
Much like Obama pretends that he cares for the environment and then gives our money to a Soros investment to drill in Brazil. All a charade!! Political Correctness is just a tool to coerce people to give up their rational, instinctual thoughts!
